Europe's software industry kicks back with Nessi

Developing a common strategy for Europe's IT industry. 13 founding members, including Engineering and Telecom Italia in Italy, however, in just a few years, 250 organisations have joined since 2005, including major ICT players, universities and prestigious research centres.

The European Commission has adopted most of the guidelines of the VIIth Framework Programme on ICT research from the Nessi programme. Engineering is promoter of Nessi Italia, which has similar characteristics to the EU consortium: aggregation of Italian ICT operators and scientific organisations, a five-year software research and innovation calendar.
