AREAS is the first H-ERP system (Healthcare Enterprise Resource Planning) designed and built to manage and integrate all the clinical and administrative processes of the country's healthcare organisations. The platform is based on Web technology and, through a unique database, adopts native integration which extends from administration and control to human resources, and clinical divisions in hospitals and within the territory. The information systems for management and administration are integrated into the systems for production, service provision and healthcare and social services. The AREAS platform consists of 7 application areas:

The application areas were designed and built with AREAS Business Framework, the development environment is in J2EE technology devised by the laboratories of Engineering's healthcare division for the development of AREAS.
AREAS Business Framework provides the platform with numerous shared components, such as workflow management systems for modelling and executing processes, data warehousing and business intelligence technologies for decision-making support.
