Approach
The customer company is an industrial services multinational and one of the largest companies in the world in the oil services sector, operating in more than 120 countries. The company produces equipment necessary for start-up and extraction from oil fields, such as equipment for drilling, analysis and safety.
In such a vast scenario of components to be produced, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining is a crucial part of production capacity. The customer thus decided to take action to improve the way production data were handled, including Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) files and Numerical Control (NC) programs that did not have a centralized position.
Solution
For the project we relied on our decades of experience in the oil and gas industry and our niche approach for exploiting the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system for the handling of both design and production data. In collaboration with the customer's team, we defined new standards for NC program management, implemented a complete DNC solution, connected all machines to CNC and workshop resources to the new system, providing support and training to end users for the entire project.
