A New Normal for the University of Tor Vergata

Virtual Tour and Virtual Open Day for universities: an immersive, omnichannel and Data Driven experience to guide today's students in discovering the university of tomorrow.

The University of Tor Vergata has chosen Engineering to create a Virtual Tour of its University and of the student Campus. The aim of the University was to strengthen its brand and increase its appeal, especially towards foreign students interested in living a study experience abroad.

The key to success that we, as Engineering Interactive, provided was to use, during the initial creativity and conception phase of the design concept, data that emerged from an in-depth analysis of the University and its competitors, carried out through digital listening and social analysis.

In continuity with this first experience, the University turned to Engineering Interactive also to conceive, design and implement a specific format for the organization of Virtual Open Days, entrusting us with the related institutional communication activities: from the design of promotional material to the creation of systems for the creation and publication of brochures.

Solution

Through the use of search, web and social analytics methodologies and tools, we took inspiration from the conversations on social networks of students of different nationalities, observed the most popular assets of the University through the analysis of the photos of the Campus published by students on Instagram, and discovered the target audience's web search intentions.

The reports produced have provided valuable insights for the design of the Virtual Tour, both in terms of graphics and the logical organization of the contents. The Tour can be accessed directly or through the Virtual Open Day, which is an environment specially designed to allow the University to create and publish immersive pages referring to specific events scheduled during the year.

The user, while waiting to access the meeting with the teachers, will then be able to consult information material relating to the event or immerse themselves in the Virtual Tour that can be used in desktop, mobile and immersive mode through VR viewers.
