Our Client is an American company included in the Fortune 500 list, which manufactures industrial equipment, household tools, safety products and locks, with a network of plants all over the world.

The geographical distribution of production, which is differentiated by market sector, requires particular attention on key aspects such as Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis, identification of possible bottlenecks in the workflow and improvement of production volumes.

Solution

We were engaged by the Client to substitute the existing simulation model already adopted in some plants using the Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation product. After a thorough review of requirements, we considered that the creation of a new, standard and adaptive global simulation model was the quickest and most cost-effective way to extend implementation to multiple facilities, considering their widespread consistency in terms of assembly lines and storage environments.

Within a digital factory vision, we thus developed a Global Plant Simulation project for analyzing and evaluating the processes that occur on production lines, easily customizable according to the specificities of each plant and equipped with a simple user interface, in order to ensure rapid implementation and optimal use even for end users with little experience.
