Approach
The Italian Group we collaborated with is a leader in the wood, chemical and furniture industries, as well as one of the first companies in the sector to adopt a Green Economy model at an international level.
The Group’s goal was to implement a new information system, designed to streamline and unify the different processes of its various companies and ultimately, to face the new challenges of the market using effective, cutting-edge tools.
First and foremost, a number of “requirements” for the future development of the company were identified, including:
- Increased productivity.
- Increased profitability, by enhancing operational activities.
- Better integration between the various end-to-end processes (Sales/Production/Supply Chain/Administration, Finance and Control).
- Improved compliance with company procedures and policies.
Solution
We responded to the challenge by implementing a solution based on SAP S/4HANA and the SAP PI (Process Integration) integration component. In addition, we handled all the subsequent roll-outs and provided Application Management services (AMS), guiding the company, step by step, along the technological evolution of its system.
The SAP project followed a number of key criteria:
- Standardization and uniformity: we designed and implemented a uniform solution shared among the various group companies, in order to reduce the complexity and the overall number of applications to manage.
- specialization: where specialized application components were already in place, we preferred to keep the existing ones.
