SERVIFY: UBIQUITOUS SERVICES

The project intends to support the development and diffusion of culture, knowledge, models, instruments, initiatives in the field of open innovation and "ubiquituum" services.

Servify is configured as the first initiative by SiLab Laboratory in line with the paths of the Horizon@Calabria2020 ICT Cluster and intends to respond to the need for structural change that the Convergence Regions feel above all, driving the entire Italian service sector towards modernization.

The project focuses on innovation in T-KIBS services, defining the concept of "ubiquituum" service, which not only responds to the requisites of ubiquity that is typical of nomadic services, but also guarantees continuity ("continuum") and consistency in user experience even when the context changes.

It is foreseen that in the near future, the ubiquituum services sector will undergo an increasing interest. The project results will not only open up interesting economic and strategic prospects for the proposers, but will also have a positive influence on the territorial context, providing the entrepreneurial fabric with the opportunity of turning their own business into a highly innovative business service.

To achieve its goals, the project foresees results that can be classified as process innovation, new business models, new and original formulations of innovative services. In particular, Servify adopts a method characterised by user-driven open innovation and codified as "Living-Lab".

The new formulations concern the definition of methods and technologies for Service Engineering, starting from a new service model (ubiquituum), which is designed to respond to the needs of high availability, pervasiveness, immersiveness, and orientation towards user needs.

The innovative products that the project plans to create consist of:

  • an environment for application of the principles of Open Innovation, applied to services, with reference to T-KIBS services
  • a set of technologies that enables life cycle support for ubiquituum services
  • highly specialized human capital via the complementary training project "Empowering Service Innovation".
