The Consortium was set up in Italy in the wake of the opening up of the payment services market. It aims to uniquely manage purchases via telephone credit, based on a cross-operator platform that supports the sales of online services and digital content. Engineering's choice as the supplier of the platform and the services connected to it being realized and managed is the result of the expertise and value that Engineering can express in the two markets involved, telecommunications and finance.
The platform allows for integration with payment circuits -such as interbank networks, credit card circuits and broker networks, checks credit availability and authorizes the transaction, taking money from phone credit only on delivery of the item to the final customer. The merchants are connected to the Engineering platform to which the payment requests are sent, receiving indications about credit availability and transaction confirmation from the same platform.
The service is offered continuously (365 days/year, 24 hours a day) and is structured according to the processes that adhere to the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) model of the Central Computing and Telecommunication Agency, which ensure suitable levels of service (SLA) and guarantee a significant reduction of Total Cost of Ownership.
