Tech Talk Engineering @ PoliTO

Innovation, Data and Artificial Intelligence

Engineering presents itself to the students of the Polytechnic University of Turin through three complementary perspectives – research, data, and artificial intelligence – thanks to the insights of three professionals who transform technology and expertise into concrete solutions every day.

  • Davide Dalle Carbonare, R&I Project Manager, presents his work in the field of research. At Engineering, Research & Innovation is not an isolated laboratory, but a driver of real impact. The company manages European and national projects, involves multidisciplinary teams, and works on technologies ranging from AI to cloud, from IoT to cybersecurity. The approach is clear: research must become reality. This is why results are transferred to the business units and transformed into services and products for clients. During the session, figures, ecosystems, and concrete examples are shared to illustrate what applied research means within a large technology group.
  • Davide Vernassa, Technical Manager, introduces Knowage, the open-source Business Intelligence suite developed by Engineering. With an international customer base and increasingly strong integration with AI, Knowage represents the meeting point between an open-source product and specialized consultancy. The session explores its architecture, advantages, and the most significant use cases, highlighting its value in data management and interpretation.
  • Antonio Rosanova, Data Science Specialist, discusses how Engineering works with artificial intelligence. The AI team develops tailored solutions for companies and public administrations: NLP models, intelligent automation, proprietary tools such as EngGPT. His presentation addresses key topics such as data quality, governance, and scalability, showing why a customized approach enables the creation of solutions that truly make a difference. Everything is supported by concrete, real, and measurable examples.

We look forward to seeing you!
