This document is drafted in a simplified form and in clear and understandable language in compliance with the principles and accessibility requirements established by Directive (EU) 2019/882 and Legislative Decree No. 82 of May 27, 2022, with particular reference to the obligation to provide information that is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users, including people with disabilities.

Pursuant to Article 12 of Legislative Decree 82/2022 and Annex I, Sections III and IV, information relating to service accessibility must be presented in a clear, understandable, and accessible manner, also through the use of simple language and a non-complex structure.

The choice of conciseness and simplicity in this document therefore constitutes the direct implementation of a regulatory obligation and does not represent a limitation of the information available, which remains fully governed by the relevant technical and legal documentation.

This document has been provided by Accessiway to comply with the obligations of the European Accessibility Act until the competent national authority provides the official template.

Each complex paragraph is introduced by an explanation in simpler language.

Accessibility compliance (how we meet requirements)

We have assessed www.eng.it against the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (and, where necessary, its local implementation), ADA, WCAG 2.2, and Section 508, and it is:

Perceivable

  • Instructions provided to understand and operate content do not rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, color, size, visual location, orientation, or sound.
  • Content adapts correctly to screen orientation, maintaining consistent display and functionality.
  • Where present, the purpose of input fields that accept specific data is correctly communicated to assistive technologies and implemented in a compliant manner.
  • Information is not conveyed solely through color, or it provides an accessible alternative such as text or symbols.
  • Changes to text spacing, including line height, paragraph spacing, letter spacing, or word spacing, do not cause loss of information or content.
  • No instances occur where additional content triggered by hover or focus disappears unexpectedly, cannot be dismissed without moving the pointer or focus, or does not remain visible.

Operable

  • No keyboard traps are present (it is possible to navigate freely within and outside all components).
  • There is no interference with keyboard shortcuts triggered by single letters, numbers, or symbols.
  • No time limits are imposed by content or, if present, they are user-controllable, adjustable, extendable, or justified by functional or regulatory needs.
  • No flashing or blinking content is used at levels that could trigger seizures, remaining within safe limits.
  • Multiple ways exist to identify content within the environment.
  • Elements that can receive keyboard focus are always at least partially visible within the viewport.
  • Functions do not start immediately upon touch, can be canceled before completion, and do not require continuous pressing to work.
  • All functionalities are usable without relying solely on device or user motion.
  • All functionalities are usable without requiring drag actions.
  • The clickable area of interactive elements is sufficiently large to ensure easy interaction for users.

Understandable

  • The language of each page is appropriately defined and used consistently throughout the service.
  • User interface components, when receiving keyboard focus, do not trigger unexpected context changes that could disorient users.
  • User interface components, when activated via keyboard or assistive technologies, do not trigger unexpected context changes that could disorient users.
  • Navigation mechanisms are positioned consistently throughout the service flow.
  • Repeated interface elements are defined consistently to facilitate identification.
  • Support or help request mechanisms are consistent across the environment.
  • When an input error is automatically detected, the error element is identified and the error is described in text.
  • Where necessary, labels or instructions are provided when content requires user input.
  • When an input error is identified and suggestions for correction are known, such suggestions are provided to the user, except where prohibited by regulation.
  • We write content in clear and simple language.

Robust

  • Standard development technologies interpretable by assistive technologies are used.
  • We have tested www.eng.it with the most common assistive technologies across a wide variety of Operating System–Browser configurations:
    • Screen readers (such as NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on Mac and iOS) to confirm that all interactive elements are correctly announced and usable.
    • We also test screen magnification and high-contrast modes.
  • We aim for compatibility with current versions of major assistive technologies. Our code follows best practices outlined in WCAG 2.2 and EN 301 549 for robust implementation, meaning it should remain accessible as technology evolves.

Standards: based on the above, we apply the latest WCAG 2.2 AA and EN 301 549 criteria to ensure accessibility. Compliance with these standards creates a presumption of conformity with EAA, ADA, and other regulations based on the same technical standards.

Ongoing monitoring and maintenance

For us, accessibility is not a one-time commitment but an ongoing process. Here is how we ensure that www.eng.it remains accessible over time:

  • With the support of AccessiWay, on June, 3rd 2026 we conducted an external expert-led manual audit to verify our accessibility compliance. We maintain a continuous cycle of testing and improvements, with recurring support to ensure that at least once a year full audits are carried out, including manual testing by professionals using assistive technologies.
  • We use automated testing tools integrated into our development process to promptly detect the most common accessibility issues (such as missing alt text or form labeling). Every code update undergoes these checks.
