Discovering the integrated water cycle in the Metaverse

We developed for SMAT - Società Metropolitana Acque Torino - a virtual reality app presented for the first time at the Turin Water Festival 2022.

Challenge
The SMAT Group, a leader in the field of integrated water services in the Turin area, with advanced technological plants for water purification and reuse, is renowned as the only one in the world to supply water to space stations.
Approach
The aim of the project was to create a new immersive and technological communication channel to learn about all aspects of the plants and the values of the company itself to be brought to trade fair events in the sector.
Solution
The solution implemented by Engineering allows a real 'water journey' to learn about the integrated water cycle managed by SMAT. It entails an Oculus App with 360° photos and a 3D reproduction environment of a space station. The app allows user interaction with POIs (Points of Interest) on a map inside the facilities and guided tours with background audio explaining SMAT's processes and history.
