Engineering: new offices inaugurated in view of its growth in Apulia

Investments and new recruitment to take innovation from Puglia to all international markets in which Engineering operates.

Bari, July 10 2018

Today, at the Fondo Cloe Business District in Bitritto (BA), Engineering – leader in digital transformation – inaugurated the new offices conceived and designed to accompany growth in the region.

Speaking at the opening of the new offices, President of the Apulia Region Michele Emiliano said: “It is extremely important that a reality like Engineering, which is an important partner for the Apulia Region, gives all this attention to Southern Italy. I am convinced that these new offices, which also physically represent a crossroads of stimuli, interests, dreams and abilities, can help to give work to our children, infusing them with the hope that is needed for them to remain. We need them to build the future of our land”.

Engineering has positioned itself as a point of reference in digitization of the country, developing software solutions and implementing large-scale projects in all key market areas (Industry and Services, Telecommunications and Utilities, Finance and Insurance, Public Administration and Health) thanks to a clear strategic vision and constant and significant investments in Research & Development worth about 30 million euro every year. These are elements that allowed the Group to exceed the 1 billion euro turnover threshold in 2017 and today count on 10,400 employees working in the 50 offices between Italy and abroad (Belgium, Spain, Germany, Republic of Serbia, Brazil, Argentina and USA).

In Southern Italy, Engineering has found hundreds of people to help it continue growing and innovating. In particular, in Apulia, where it has been present for more than 15 years, the Company has developed research projects worth over 2 million euro a year, for a total of more than 30 million euro in the period, and today employs 80 people, of whom about 50 have been recruited in the last 3 years, demonstrating an important growth trend that is destined to continue in the future.

In the second half of 2018 alone, the company plans to recruit another 30 people between Bari and Lecce, to become part of the research and software development teams.
Of the company's 250 researchers, 104 are in Southern Italy and of these about 50 are in Puglia, engaged every day in studying and testing new and innovative areas of technology application that are now available and are being developed, conducting complex research projects both at European level and in the regional context, in close collaboration with the public administration.
The teams working in Southern Italy are strongly focused on the public administration and in particular on health, dedicating their work to the important goal of simplifying access to health services and, more generally, improving the lives of citizens.

Dario Buttitta, General Manager of Engineering's Public Administration and Health Department, said: “The new offices we are inaugurating today are designed and sized to accommodate new resources, with particular attention to young people. In recent years, Apulia has demonstrated its ability to create an environment favorable to the development of innovative realities, supporting the growth of technological start-ups as well as some already consolidated excellences.
Due to its innovative drive, the Apulia ecosystem seems to us to be among those most ready for the challenge of digital transformation and the presence of a large corporation such as Engineering can generate virtuous processes of Open Innovation. We are ready to continue investing in the territory to give substance to this project”.
