Newly elected parliamentarians may face a challenge in navigating the complex world of the European Parliament. They have to move between the many offices located in various areas of Brussels and Strasbourg, while having visibility of all those events or activities of their interest.
Approach
For this reason, providing a handy and easy to use mobile app can strongly facilitate the daily work of parliamentarians. MEP Welcome is the application developed by Engineering for the European Parliament providing services dedicated to welcoming new parliamentarians, as well as information on meetings and events.

The application is fully integrated with mobile devices and allows Members to manage their activities even on the move. Most of the content is available in 24 languages and is characterized by a visual design in line with the image of the European Parliament.

The app guarantees accessibility to the service even for visually impaired users and is designed to work with "voice-over" or high contrast mode functionalities. A more recent update has made the application accessible also in "guest" mode, allowing users to find useful information on the parliamentary institution. To date, MEP Welcome has been downloaded 10,000 times from mobile stores.
