Challenge
Azienda Zero, a body of the Regione Veneto, is responsible for overseeing the regional healthcare system. The goal is to provide innovative services aligned with regional needs through the implementation of organizational and technological solutions that promote the standardization and centralization of services. These services support both healthcare professionals and citizens in the management and consultation of the Electronic Health Record.
Approach
An advisory approach was adopted, involving experts and stakeholders from the earliest stages. Workshops, interviews, and co-design sessions were organized to gather insights and define priorities. A team of consultants led the design process, ensuring alignment with best practices. Throughout the development phase, ongoing dialogue was maintained to validate decisions.
A new cloud-native portal has been developed, built on AWS infrastructure, with the goal of ensuring high standards of security, reliability, and performance. At the core of the system is Drupal, an open-source CMS chosen for its flexible and integrated content management capabilities. The entire project was implemented following a DevOps® approach, supporting efficient and controlled evolutionary management. The architecture is fully scalable - both vertically and horizontally - to effectively handle variable workloads and future growth demands. New sections dedicated to citizens and healthcare professionals are planned, reflecting a commitment to the continuous expansion and improvement of digital services.
