Guided networks for the LPG

A new billing system to manage communities served by guided networks, with a solution covering the entire contact-to-cash business process.

Challenge
To create a billing system to serve a customer base of around 20,000 LPG meters, deliverable through a hundred or so guided networks, which are required to supply liquid gas to small communities not covered by distribution networks for natural gas. To face this challenge, a leading company in the sale of power/gas requested support from Engineering.
Approach
The required solution must be cloud-native, able to implement regulatory changes within the sector quickly, comply with cybersecurity requirements, and cover the entire contact-to-cash process for domestic meter reading operators.
To meet the customer's needs, Engineering adopted its Utilities Digital Platform Cloud Edition (Net@ Operational CRM, Metering - Billing - Collections/Credit modules), integrated with the FSM component for field reading from the Geocall mobile app, deliverable in SaaS mode by our Technology & Cloud Services Centres. The project also includes integrations with SAP systems (accounting download), with printing systems, and with the SDI interchange system for electronic invoicing, through the provision of IT consulting and mobile application services. Our design solution covers the distribution phase for metering to cash and field force management activities, also integrating with the accounting and logistics component of SAP. Engineering's Competence Center performs the Regulatory Compliance and Regulatory Maintenance service remotely, promptly adapting to any evolving tax provisions.
