Case Study
A next‑generation ticketing system for the city of Potenza
The partnership established between Miccolis, Municipia, and Masabi has created a real ecosystem that allows users of urban services in the city of Potenza to use their smartphones to purchase tickets and passes (for buses and escalators) with unprecedented ease. The Mobility Ticket app increases the accessibility of the Miccolis Bus mobility service by enabling users to purchase travel tickets anytime, anywhere, and always have them at hand with a simple click. This reduces boarding and waiting times at stops, improves the user experience, and speeds up the service. Miccolis Bus users can use the app or the web portal to purchase bus and escalator tickets. Passengers can pre-purchase tickets for future use and activate them when they need to travel, or they can buy a ticket on the same day of travel, simply ensuring it is active before boarding.
Masabi’s technology, adopted by Miccolis Bus through the Mobility ecosystem provided by MUNICIPIA SPA for managing ticketing for buses and escalators in the city of Potenza, received the Supplier Innovation Award at the Transport Ticketing Global Awards 2025.
