Challenge
The Local Police Command of Turin is a municipal department responsible for managing one of the most complex processes with significant financial implications for the institution: the administrative sanction procedure. The volume of documents to be processed amounts to approximately 1 million per year, placing the Command among the top three in Italy. As a result, digitalization, speed, and efficiency are the key factors for the project’s success.
Approach
To achieve the objectives set by the client, we redefined all processes with a full-digital approach, guided by user-centered design principles, improving the operations of the Police Force and the citizens. This made digital transformation the key lever for enhancing the entire service with a focus on greater simplification and efficiency.

The Command has a suite consisting of a back-office software for managing practices; a mobile app integrated with the back office to facilitate the operational activities of officers on the streets and citizens with payments; an online service portal; services integrated with the postalizer for the virtual retrieval of document backlogs at the municipal office/virtual offices. The strength of Municipia lies in adapting software platforms and services to the needs of the Administration and evolving the digital ecosystem.
Examples include:
- The digital notification that has reduced costs for the Entity and for those receiving the judicial act.
- The appIO for the advance notices of violations of LTZ and preferential lanes, eliminating the notification costs for both the Entity and for those receiving the sanction and choosing to pay it before the judicial act is sent.
