Challenge
Against the backdrop of a rapidly expanding lithium battery market and increasing focus on environmental regulations, AUTOMAT aims to optimize the reuse of components from second-life batteries, reducing waste and improving sustainability across the entire supply chain.

By leveraging advanced technologies such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and IDS Data Space Connectors, the project aims to create a secure and efficient digital ecosystem for managing battery lifecycle data.

Extra Red is responsible for developing an advanced digital platform designed to:
- Data Management and Sharing: transparently manage and share battery component data, supporting informed decision-making for reuse
- Data Standardization: define data models compliant with European standards, ensuring full compatibility with the Digital Battery Passport (DBP)
- User Interface: develop an intuitive interface that enables operators to monitor the AUTOMAT workflow across the different stages of battery remanufacturing and industrial reuse.
The project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe programme under Call HORIZON-CL4-2023-RESILIENCE-01 (Resilient Value Chains 2023), topic HORIZON-CL4-2023-RESILIENCE-01-05, as a HORIZON-IA (Innovation Action). Grant Agreement No. 101138532.
