ENDURANCE for the resilience of critical infrastructures in Europe

Technologies and services to increase the resilience of essential services in Europe against potential disruptions, supporting EU authorities and critical infrastructure operators.

Where: international
Challenge
In an increasingly interconnected European environment, the provision of essential services is crucial for the well-being of citizens and for the internal market. Evolving risks - cyber threats, physical attacks, human error, natural disasters - require a proactive and collaborative approach to ensure resilience to service disruptions.
Approach

Acknowledging the importance of the CER and NIS2 directives and the introduction of the new silo approach to Critical Infrastructure (CI) resilience and business continuity of essential services, ENDURANCE supports CI authorities across the EU in implementing both directives and improving cooperation and strategic collaboration between CI stakeholders.

Following a proactive approach, it develops comprehensive methodologies, interoperable technologies and strategies to increase resilience. Furthermore, it rigorously tests these solutions in a joint and cross-sectoral manner to ensure their scalability in the real world.

ENDURANCE provides EU Member State authorities and critical infrastructure operators with tools for assessing and anticipating risks relevant to the provision of essential services.

With the aim of meeting the provisions of the proposed ERC Directive, following a user-driven approach in co-design with research organisations, EU Member State authorities and critical infrastructure operators, it provides guidance and support for the drafting of resilience plans.

Engineering oversees the technological foundations and overall project strategy, ensuring a coherent technical and strategic direction. The project is funded by Horizon Europe under agreement 101168007.
