Conad is the largest organization of independent retailers in Italy, comprising 600 points of sale with over 18,000 employees.
As Extra Red, a company within the ENG Group, we support Conad Nord Ovest in embarking on the digitalization of their business processes, leveraging our expertise in adopting Cloud and DevOps practices.
The client has entrusted Extra Red for support with Red Hat products and for liaising with the vendor and the Linux community. The approach, even during the design phase of the OCP4 cluster, went beyond providing operational and implementation information to understanding the needs of both the client and suppliers, supporting the adoption of the most effective tools to accelerate business and consolidate workflows, particularly the DevOps methodology.

Solution
The project involved creating and implementing a Red Hat OpenShift 4 cluster installed on-premise at Conad's datacenter using VMware infrastructure, which optimized the logistics management process and the business continuity related to the company's document system.
Adopting a unified platform provided greater control over environments, while the microservices logic, implemented at the application level, enabled release automation and continuous delivery, ensuring efficiency and simplification in development activities.
