Request to Pay for a major financial player

We guided a major financial player in the strategic analysis and setting up of the Request to Pay initiative.

Approach & Solution

Approach

As part of the development of digital payments, the Request to Pay service is seen as a key enabler of new business opportunities.

We supported a leading financial player by initiating the study of the Request To Pay solution at national level, with a view to maximising the value of Instant Payments.

What the client needed was to identify the potential benefits and opportunities of the service by focusing on the potential use cases arising from the new paradigm and the SEAs offered to the payer and creditor.

Solution

The first phase of the project, called ‘Quick Assessment’, included the analysis of the RTP rulebook, the analysis of the As-Is product portfolio, the identification of use cases and the definition of a preliminary To-Be model. Subsequently, for the ‘product design’ we planned the detailed analysis of use cases and identification of pilots, as well as the search for potential partnerships (e.g. with fintechs), identification of SEAs and scenario analysis.

We then launched the 'Product setup' phase with a feasibility study, a business case and the definition of an implementation strategy.

Finally, the 'Go to market' phase involved the definition of a roadmap, governance and stakeholder identification, as well as project management and a communication campaign to promote the solution developed.
