Description

Engineering joins the fifth edition of hackher_, the important Italian event dedicated to gender equality in the field of technology. This international project, aimed at addressing challenges related to gender parity, makes a stop in vibrant Naples for an engaging event.

hackher_ involves 20 events worldwide, 10 in Italy and an equal number abroad, with the support of the European Parliament and the sponsorship of major multinational brands. In each of the 20 cities involved, 100 high school girls will participate in a hackathon, a unique opportunity to delve into the STEM world.

Teams will compete in the development of an app on specific themes, supported by expert technology and innovation coaches. A panel composed of women managers from renowned multinational companies and institutional representatives will address issues related to the gender gap, sharing success stories and valuable advice with the students.

The day will conclude with the awarding of the most original app, with a prize of €1,500 for the winning team. Engineering, the official sponsor of the Naples stage, actively commits to promoting this internationally relevant event, demonstrating its dedication to gender equality and female empowerment. With the participation of Lina Alberico, Railway & Mobility Infrastructure Sales Director at Engineering and General Manager of Engineering Belgium, on the jury, the company significantly contributes to the debate on crucial issues related to the gender gap in the technology sector.

hackher_ is committed to reducing the gender gap in the high-tech industry, appealing to anyone who believes in the importance of building a society based on gender equality. The girls involved have a unique opportunity to experience the creation of a technological project, dispelling the myth that STEM subjects are exclusive to males. hackher_ promotes a university choice based on real personal inclinations, encouraging the breaking of the glass ceiling and overcoming gender stereotypes.

As the main partner of hackher_, Engineering emphasizes its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the technology sector, confirming its role as a leader in supporting innovative initiatives like this.
