Challenge
Our customer is a leader in the manufacturing of special papers for packaging, graphics, printing, art, and in the conversion of paper and other materials into self-adhesive solutions.
Fedrigoni expressed the desire to start a course of action that would enable it to produce and market Food Contact products in compliance with the relevant regulations within the shortest possible time.
Approach
Engineering has responded to this demand by proposing a solution that is integrated with all Fedrigoni's corporate systems and that will enable the adoption of a new corporate MES platform in the future.

Based on the customer's requirements, we worked on three main objectives: collection of requirements and functional analysis for the traceability of raw materials and finished products; development of a traceability system integrated with ERP and field systems for the part concerning the processing of raw materials and enhanicng and merging automated production processes with third-party systems through the adoption of the new platform that currently manages only traceability.
The solution created, based on the Wonderware suite, has made it possible to manage the process by eliminating, in just 5 months the paper-based production support documents and, at the same time, to manage any stoppages in data retrieval from the field, by manually running the procedure itself for the operators on the line.
