Case Study

Monitoring sales processes using open source technology

We support the process of monitoring distributor reading flows with a simple, effective and intuitive cloud solution.

Challenge
An important player in power & gas sales has delivered some variation in terms of evolution of the application map in the area of metering. These changes have highlighted scope to improve user operations both in terms of the process of managing readings, and of complex time monitoring (distribution of statuses, fluctuations).
Approach
Thanks to our in-depth knowledge of the client's business processes, we have proposed to the Head of Metering to optimise user operations, applying an incremental and "nimble" approach focused on improving knowledge of phenomena relating to the incoming flow of data in reference to periodic readings received from the various distributors.
Solution
The solution is based on open source technology and it has been implemented in just under 3 months thanks to a proactive and effective approach. Dashboards integrated with sales processes, and which are clear and intuitive, make their use by line operators more effective and easier, thanks to management of filters that trace fluctuations, as well as resolution of anomalies using the "drill down" approach. The incremental approach adopted for the purpose of development of the dashboards has guaranteed that the user is progressively more focused on the work of monitoring business activities. The solution finds its place in the Distribution della Supply Chain segment of the Utilities market for Metering to Cash (M2C) activities, which manages approximately 8 millions readings per month and has allowed us to demonstrate to the client our expertise beyond the scope of the Utilities Digital Platform.
