New technologies for parking management in Padua

ABSTRACT
With 5G and LoRaWAN technologies and our INES Cloud platform, we detect the occupancy of 1,500 parking spaces and provide smart mobility services.

Challenge
The aim is to reduce urban traffic and thus the environmental and noise pollution caused by the daily search for parking spaces.
Approach
The project involves an RTI: - Municipia for parking occupancy detection with IoT sensors and the INES Cloud mobility platform managing data and providing services, - and our partner Fastweb providing REGENERATIVE BUSINESS connectivity for all parking areas of interest with 5G and LoRaWAN technology through proprietary fiber infrastructure to ensure real-time transmission of parking occupancy data to the processing platform.

Our technologies, which use the LoRaWAN network, enable a real digital revolution in urban mobility: they make it possible to identify the occupancy status of each parking space in real time, simplify the control of on-street parking violators and provide APS Holding and the Padua City Council with a precise tool for monitoring mobility policy indicators. At the same time, through the EasyPadova app and other channels deemed useful by APS Holding, citizens can check the availability of parking spaces by area in real time and even in forecast mode.
