MARKET 4.0: innovating the manufactoring industry

ABSTRACT
An innovative, open, multi-sided digital marketplace for the manufacturing industry and supply chain, based on a trusted data sharing infrastructure for Industry 4.0.

Where: international
Challenge
Online B2B marketplaces for equipment manufacturing and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) have limitations such as provider or vendor lock-in, product offerings, and data restrictions. None of these marketplaces use advanced technologies like Digital Twins for simulation or dynamic re-configuration and customization. Data sovereignty is a challenge and a critical concern for stakeholders.
Approach
MARKET 4.0 is an innovaton action developing a multi-sided, multi-stakeholder marketplace for industrial equipment and OEMs which is built with trusted data sharing by design (being based on the International Data Spaces Architecture).

Digital Ecosystem

MARKET 4.0 is developing the marketplace and related applications on the International Data Spaces (IDS) architecture, which ensures the implementation of the data sovereignty principles allowing the data exchange in a trusted data environment, also leveraging blockchain technologies.

In order to maximise impact, MARKET 4.0 conducts a series of piloting activities as well as Open Calls where SMEs and technology providers are being funded to provide new services and solutions through MARKET 4.0.

The project has received co-funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme - Contract No. 822064.
