Case Study

A new global supply chain

ABSTRACT
A cutting-edge business process: our custom to-be model for an Italian leader in the production of domestic appliances.

Where: Italy
Challenge
We worked together with one of the main Italian companies in the production of household appliances to identify an assessment path as a preparatory phase to review the Global Supply Chain processes and organization.
Approach
The assessment activity had the aim of mapping the current business processes, the organization and the technologies in place within the Client's Supply Chain area, in order to define a new to-be model for processes and supporting technologies.
Solution
The project path has been developed in two different steps: mapping of the as-is model, through interviews with the business area by using supporting documentation in order to design the current flow charts and the related detail sheets and co-design of the high-level to-be model, and of the detailed design of all the technical areas linked to Supply Chain processes. The activities that we carried out highlighted a high rigidity in current processes, as well as various processes not correctly managed and a strong lack of supporting technology. Our new to-be model allows to harmonize the different steps of the supply chain. Moreover, we enable our client to select new best of breed technologies. At the end of the process, we also supported the software selection.
