Challenge
Product lifecycle management is the basis of the “Digital Revolution” of the manufacturing sector, i.e., the ability to imagine, design, engineer, build, and maintain a virtual product in a virtual factory: it allows the behavior of an object to be simulated with a very good degree of approximation before it is actually made.
Approach
AMELiE aims to innovate the manufacturing system by supporting and enhancing the creation of value-added systems through the creation of a methodological, technological and service platform for the optimization of integrated product lifecycle management. The project involves the continuous monitoring of these processes through the use of reverse engineering techniques, which allow for the optimization of various operational stages through the revision and adjustment of those that do not meet certain requirements.

AMELiE provides a tool that supports product lifecycle management, integrating functionality for collaborative design, customer and supplier contact management, and supply chain coordination. The project also develops tools for process modeling, managing anomalies, defining quality models, and creating a digital environment where design, manufacturing, and maintenance information can be found. Engineering coordinates the project and is responsible for the activities related to the definition of the Social Business system and the creation of the AMELiE platform.

The project is a beneficiary of a grant from Action 1.2.1_03 of the OP ERDF 2014 - 2020 Sicily Region. D.D.G. No. 3027/S.5, total value of the industrial project: €12,719,500.00, CUP: G76I20000060007.
