Research Project
SOFIE Secure Open Federation for the Internet Everywhere
Engineering develops an administratively decentralised federation of IoT platforms for business use in which data is not merely integrated; instead, it will remain inside the corresponding IoT platforms, but will be usable by different applications while maintaining high standards of security and privacy: SOFIE will ensure end-to-end security as well as key management, authorisation, accountability and inspection functionality by leveraging blockchain technology. We are also participating in standardisation activities and adopting open standards, existing interfaces and components such as FIWARE, W3C Web of Things (WoT) and oneM2M.
