Engineering Group Acquires Extra Red, Expanding Cloud Expertise and Solutions
The Engineering Group acquires 100% of Extra Red, a Technology Service Provider that offers high-value services and projects on leading market technologies, in partnership with major IT vendors.
Extra Red is a Premier Business Partner of Red Hat, the world's leading provider of enterprise open-source solutions, and with this acquisition, Engineering, which is already an Advanced Business Partner and Red Hat Certified Cloud Service Provider, reinforces its expertise in guiding companies and public administrations in their digitalization and cloud migration processes.
Specifically, with Extra Red, Engineering expands its capabilities to accompany players from every market in all phases of their Cloud Transformation, supporting them in fully harnessing the potential of this technology through the development of cloud-native applications, microservices, and containerized solutions, thereby improving their agility, resilience, and sustainability.

By joining the Engineering Group, Extra Red, which was born in 2012 as a Business Unit of the company Extra and later became an autonomous legal entity in 2017, headquartered in Pontedera (in the province of Pisa, Tuscany), and with a consolidated presence in strategic sectors such as Finance, Energy & Utilities, and Public Administration, will be able to expand and strengthen its practice in offering application modernization and migration services, consolidating and expanding its partnerships, which, in addition to Red Hat, include collaborations with IBM, Liferay, AWS, and InfluxData.
