The DOME project has launched the first version of the cloud and edge digital services marketplace. It is called YUMKET and offers a single portal through which it is possible to navigate an online catalog of reliable, certified, and EU-compliant cloud, edge, and in a few months also artificial intelligence, digital services. The services are made available thanks to the collection of independent marketplaces connected to European cloud service providers and platforms.

The DOME Marketplace is an integral part of the DOME project, coordinated by Engineering in collaboration with IN2 as the technical coordinator, involving 40 organizations from 14 European countries. The project has received EU co-funding under the Digital Europe program with the broader goal of strengthening Europe's technological sovereignty and bringing digital solutions to the market for the benefit of citizens, public administrations, and businesses, ensuring a safe, fair, inclusive, and resource-efficient digital transformation.

In this context, the DOME Marketplace is designed to improve the availability of reliable cloud and edge services and support greater adoption of such services by public and private entities, especially in sectors that handle sensitive data, such as healthcare.

“DOME is not a solution that competes with existing market players,” says Giuseppe Cafiso, Senior Technical Manager R&I Data & Analytics at Engineering D.HUB and Coordinator of the project. “Our goal is to involve everyone, starting from an ecosystem of independent marketplaces to include all European cloud providers, create a catalog based on certified products and facilitate transactions and service management in a simple and transparent way.”

On July 4th, cloud, edge, and AI service providers began onboarding their services onto the marketplace to benefit from direct connection to a network of European organizations seeking cloud solutions.

By December 2024, it will be possible to enjoy the full portal experience, thanks to payment gateway services, early booking discounts, bundling services into a single purchase, and compliance verification by providers.
