Territory Monitoring and Emergency Management

Technology serving the people to tackle fires, avalanches, floods, earthquakes, and other extreme events.

Strengthening infrastructure, digitizing processes, and managing resources more responsibly.

The importance of protecting the territory is reflected in a wide range of initiatives aimed at safeguarding the environment and ensuring public safety. These include the enhancement of monitoring and alert infrastructures, the coordination of procedures and communication tools, the full digitalization of authorization processes, and the promotion of responsible resource management.

In this context, the collaboration between public institutions and the private sector is essential for implementing innovative solutions that effectively address these challenges, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Eng Research and Innovation team’s activities, carried out through targeted projects and the integration of advanced digital technologies, contribute to significant improvements in the ability to forecast, monitor, and respond to emergencies—enabling increasingly proactive and effective natural disaster management, in support of institutions, civil protection agencies, and local communities.

Innovative solutions and fields of application: how new technologies can support firts responders in emergency management

Digital transformation is redefining how we address environmental emergencies for more efficient and effective management.

The integration of local monitoring networks and data analysis significantly enhances prevention plans, enabling a faster response to critical events. Thanks to technologies such as GIS/Remote Sensing, AI & Advanced Analytics, Mobile, Cloud, IoT, RPA, XR and Blockchain, Regional Information Systems can evolve, providing valuable support to first responders and regional agencies.

Mobile apps and geolocation systems allow timely population alerts in case of emergencies, while Artificial Intelligence and data analysis enable the early prediction of certain events and help reduce response times. Furthermore, IoT and Geospatial technologies are improving the monitoring of fires, avalanches, floods, and severe weather events.

Remote surveillance and the use of sensors in sensitive also make it possible to effectively combat environmental crimes. New technologies enable better resource management and more efficient planning strategies and techniques, supported by advanced knowledge models.
