Actively participating in initiatives with a high social and cultural impact
Read the interview with Emanuela Bellezza, Bid Management Analyst at Engineering.
Which aspect of your way of working do you feel you integrated best, right from the start, at ENG?
As a Bid Management Analyst at Eng, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to challenging projects and continue growing in an environment that values continuous learning and innovation.
In recent years, I chose to expand my contribution by actively participating in the DEI Communities—an experience that has enriched both my professional and personal journey through initiatives with a strong social and cultural impact.
Joining the DEI Community was a natural step for me: I recognized in the company’s values a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, perfectly aligned with my own personal beliefs.
My role and commitment in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion have evolved over time. Today, I am the leader of the DEI Community dedicated to gender equality.
Through the communities, I have been able to help shine a light on increasingly relevant topics such as inclusive leadership and well‑being in the workplace. Contributing to these projects has allowed me to feel part of a company that looks to the future with awareness, and that promotes diversity and inclusion as drivers of innovation and well‑being. It’s an experience that has strengthened my sense of belonging and my daily motivation, and that enables me to contribute directly to change.
Which episode made you feel truly welcomed and valued?
A key moment in my journey at Eng was the launch, within the EquaVoce Community, of a pilot project with This Unique that involved more than 1,500 people. This corporate well‑being initiative helped identify the needs of colleagues and improve the work environment, making it more inclusive and dynamic.
This way of working—based on collaboration, listening, and openness—perfectly reflects what I look for: a context where I can learn, contribute actively, and feel part of a shared mission. A place that offers the opportunity to generate concrete impact, contributing to change not only within the company but also in society.
What about the communities makes you think “this is how I want to work”?
The community is an ever‑open space for listening, where everyone can feel welcomed, valued, and free to express themselves. In a moment in history where individualism tends to prevail, being part of a community means creating authentic connections, fostering closeness, and growing together. Change and innovation are not only in the projects: they lie in the way we speak, listen, and collaborate.
I learned to work in a young and international environment, where dialogue and continuous feedback are essential tools for growing together. This has enriched my journey at Eng and has allowed me to build authentic relationships that have turned into collaborations and new opportunities.
I believe that change is a collective process, and the community is the place where this process takes shape day after day. I’ve learned that every voice matters and that even a small gesture can spark the first step toward a greater impact.
This is why I invite you to find your own space, to step in, and to contribute: because only together can we build a more inclusive, aware workplace that values each of our unique identities.
If you had to choose one word to describe your daily experience in the company, what would it be and why?
The word would undoubtedly be Growth. Actively participating in the community allows you to grow and improve; it’s an experience that creates a strong sense of belonging and gives you a purpose beyond your everyday job role.
Specifically, being part of a DEI Community puts you in new situations compared to the activities of your formal role, allowing you to develop skills such as leadership, public speaking, event planning, and problem‑solving. These experiences are extremely valuable.
The community has been a “laboratory” where I could experiment with a leadership role in a safe environment, which has made me more confident in my professional life. I dedicate a few hours a month to the DEI Community, fully aware that the company recognizes this as an investment in my professional growth.
Internal guidelines refer to this as social learning, encouraging people at Eng to engage in these activities as part of their individual and collective growth journey. Knowing that I’m helping to create a better workplace together with so many others makes me start my days with more enthusiasm.
