Challenge
Contain the health emergency by harnessing the power of data.
Approach
We responded to this challenge with Eng-DE4Bios, our data-driven, cloud-native system developed for the Veneto Region and Azienda Zero. This platform is capable of collecting data from multiple sources, integrating and harmonizing it to provide real-time insights into the evolution of the epidemic. Based on Digital Enabler, the solution allowed for the mapping and geolocation of infected individuals and the detection of clusters that required attention. In this way, it helped determine the intensity of the phenomenon across different territories, supporting health authorities in decision-making through predictive analysis.
The system enabled:
- General practitioners to have an overview of their patient population to apply the correct protocols and approach patients safely.
- Occupational doctors to have real-time visibility of positive cases within companies, allowing them to implement the correct protocols for managing production activities.
- Healthcare facility operators to access indicators of the epidemic's progression, a geo-referenced view of tests, assess available workforce in the facilities, and monitor high-risk clusters.
- The region's Task Force to monitor the epidemic in real time, conduct epidemiological simulations, identify high-risk clusters, and view geo-referenced data on tests, positive cases, and regional facilities.
