Brescia: Sustainable Mobility Becomes a Game
BrESCI is an experimental project that promotes sustainable mobility through an app featuring gamification mechanisms and rewards. By actively involving a group of citizens in an initial pilot phase, the initiative aims to encourage virtuous behaviors and collect useful data for urban planning.
Where: italy
The BrESCI project involved the creation of an experimental app to encourage sustainable mobility, integrated with a gamification system. The app securely and anonymously tracks users’ movements across different modes of transport—including personal bicycles—assigning points based on the sustainability of the chosen mode. Points, managed through a dedicated back office, can be converted into rewards (travel passes, discounts) via a digital catalog.
The system also allows for thematic campaigns and user experience customization. The pilot nature of the project enabled the collection of direct feedback from testers, useful for improving and adapting the app before a potential wider rollout.
