Challenge
CHANGES aims to transform the museum experience through new narrative modes capable of overcoming physical and temporal constraints. Leveraging advanced 3D technologies, the project delivers innovative solutions to make cultural heritage more accessible and inclusive.
Approach
The approach adopted is multidisciplinary and integrates academic research with industrial coordination. The project is built on the use of innovative technologies, such as Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), to produce highly realistic 3D surveys that make places and objects accessible as high‑fidelity digital twins.

Digital Ecosystem

The solution consists of an integrated digital ecosystem that includes:

  • Interactive touchscreen applications installed in the pilot sites of Aliano (Basilicata – Carlo Levi Literary Park) and Galtellì (Sardinia – Grazia Deledda Literary Park), along with physical Braille QR codes distributed throughout the area. These tools offer an enriched visitor experience featuring historical content, advanced 3D models, and multilingual support.
  • A mobile app that enables both pre‑visit exploration and a fully immersive virtual tour, allowing access even to sites that are closed or difficult to reach.

As the project's technology partner, Engineering develops virtual tours for Literary Parks® and 3D models using Gaussian Splatting.
