Where: international
Challenge
Managing mental health disorders presents several challenges, including the personalization of interventions, access to care, compliance with data protection regulations, and the lack of biomarkers to predict the onset of neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD and ADHD. These challenges lead to delayed treatments, underdiagnosis, and difficulties in implementing effective interventions.
Approach
PUREMIND is the first integrated ecosystem supporting the advancement of the WHO's "No Health Without Mental Health" agenda and the EU’s Mental Health Action Plan. It focuses on the prevention of mental health disorders during key stages of human development. Additionally, it aims to empower children, adolescents and young adults to recognize and self-regulate symptoms of anxiety and depression. The project also promotes accessible, community-based care models to address inequalities in mental health services.

Solution
Digital Ecosystem

PUREMIND leverages analytical models of gene–gut–brain–mental disorder interactions within an individual's natural environment to create a personalized intervention framework. This framework is powered by AI tools to deliver optimized, tailored interventions, along with a Digital Twin to educate young people on how lifestyle factors influence the onset of mental disorders. Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the PUREMIND platform. The company also contributes to the implementation of a Large Language Model–based conversational agent, designed to facilitate dialogue and help users learn how to prevent mental health disorders.
