WHAT IS OPEN-ES?

Eni’s Open-es platform aims to overcome the challenges related to complexity and bureaucracy in ESG data management, supporting companies — from SMEs to large corporations — in measuring and improving their sustainability performance.

Open-es brings together businesses, financial institutions, ESG service providers, and certifiers, with the goal of facilitating the secure sharing of ESG data and access to development solutions and services. The system is built on four pillars: being a solution for everyone based on the centrality of ESG data, with a focus on growth and the promotion of an open and collaborative ecosystem.

ENG’S PARTNERSHIP WITH OPEN-ES

Since 2021, Engineering has been using the Open-es platform, participating as a supplier in the ESG assessment and sharing its key projects within the network of associated companies. In 2023, we became a Value Chain Leader, engaging our supply chain in a progressive and growing awareness of sustainability performance. In 2024, we continued to strengthen supplier engagement with the Open-es platform, mapping about 50% of our Top Providers - exceeding the year’s target - and aiming to reach 80% by 2026.

With this new collaboration involving a Group company as a Service Provider within Open-es, we are taking another step forward in improving sustainability performance and supporting the sustainable and competitive transformation of businesses.

Within the Development Hub, Be Shaping the Future contributes its expertise in the dual transition - digital and sustainable - through solutions focused on:

  • ESG training and culture. Awareness and training programs designed to spread knowledge and integrate sustainability into business processes.
  • Innovation, compliance, and digital security. Solutions for regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and the enhancement of technological assets.

The services available on the platform

A modular training package designed to increase awareness of sustainability topics and strengthen expertise on issues related to the sustainable finance framework and the Omnibus package.

A solution aimed at companies subject to the DORA regulation. It supports the management of the DORA information register by centralizing and organizing data related to contracts, critical/important functions, supply chains, critical services, and associated risks.

A solution for mitigating cyber and reputational risks affecting both a company and its suppliers. The platform ensures continuous monitoring of cyber and reputational threats by tracking alerts and indicators of compromise from a wide network of information sources.

A solution for assessing and defining improvement actions to make digital channels compliant with accessibility standards defined by the EAA (European Accessibility Act), WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), and the Italian "Legge Stanca."

A service designed to determine the economic value of a patent family and to identify and enhance technological solutions that have not yet been converted into intellectual property rights.

The technology scouting service enables the search for new solutions consistent with the company’s technological roadmap and market trends, as well as innovative solutions supporting long-term business strategies. It is implemented through Patent Landscaping and IP Intelligence analyses and can be applied to both process and product solutions.
