Fastweb and Engineering submitted to the Ministry for Innovation and Digital Transition (MITD) a joint proposal for the creation and management of the National Strategic Hub.
The cloud based infrastructure, intended to host strategic Public Administration data and services, is considered by the National Plan of Recovery and Resilience (PNRR) and according to the MITD guidelines, as one of the key macro-actions for the digital evolution of Italy’s public administration and its citizens’ services.
The two companies, both at the forefront of Italy’s digital transformation and focused on the innovation of processes and services, looking to enhance social, economic and environmental sustainability, have laid out a proposal that combines their know-how, their strategic assets as well as their technological and business skills. Furthermore, it leverages both companies’ significant experience in providing digital solutions, specifically designed, and offered to local, regional and national administrations, to ensure the solidity, effectiveness and innovation needed by them to face the challenge of digital transformation.
This ecosystem-based proposal, in line with Europe’s most important cloud initiatives aimed at protecting data sovereignty, is able, by leveraging methodologies, guidelines and technological solutions, to meet the security, resilience, reliability and scalability needs required by the Italian Cloud strategy.
In the event of the tender being awarded, Fastweb and Engineering plan to form a NewCo that would be in charge of creating and managing the National Strategic Hub, adopting a Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework.
