The client needed to manage a multitude of product data (Part Numbers, modifications, vehicle configuration), logistics (orders, Gross Material Requirement, work account) and production data (Kitting areas, JIT, JIS, Backflushing, etc), produced worldwide (EMEA, LATAM, APAC, NAFTA).

The customer needed to manage a multitude of product data (Part Numbers, modifications, vehicle configuration), logistics (orders, Gross Material Requirement, contractual work) and production data (Kitting areas, JIT, JIS, Backflushing, etc), produced worldwide (EMEA, LATAM, APAC, NAFTA).

The added difficulty was that all this information was subject to rules that changed over time, differred by market/region and required a tool capable of processing large amounts of data in the shortest possible time.

Solution

By integrating information from Product Planning (product grid, configurations), engineering (PN, modifications, rules of engagement) and logistics (orders), the solution developed makes it possible to manage the manufacturing bill of materials and master data (Kitting, JIT, JIS, etc.).

By implementing a complex rules engine, we have created a configurable bill of materials, which allows us to manage and define all the product variants (millions of configurations), without using explicit structures for each of them.

The solution supplies the main industrial processes and production lines (MES), is SOX compliant and is equipped with reporting tools.
