Camera dei Deputati: two apps for document sharing

ABSTRACT
We created two new apps enabling the activities of the Parliamentary Commission and the Chamber of Deputies, well as the submission of parliamentary acts (bills, motions, etc.).

Where: italy
Challenge
The Italian Chamber of Deputies produces laws and monitors government activity and matters of public interest. The challenge was to provide members of parliament with a mobile tool for consulting the agenda of parliamentary meetings and to interact with the offices to send parliamentary documents such as bills, questions, and motions, etc. using a paperless system via mobile devices.
Approach
We have made two sets of apps to meet the needs of Members of the Italian Chamber of Deputies.

Solution
Digital Ecosystem
The apps allow them to: - browse the calendar of meetings, read the basic information and read any preparatory document. The app also allows to consult both the meetings of the Chamber and those of the parliamentary committees. - send to the relevant offices, wherever they may be, any new acts they wish to submit to the Chamber, including bills, amendments, questions, and motions. These are sent in de-materialised form, signed electronically, via an encrypted channel (SSL3) to the Chamber's Intranet. The apps use specialised services to access the Chamber's content, documents and security information both for authentication and for electronic signatures.
