A cloud-native portal to simplify interactions between public administrations and businesses

ABSTRACT
As part of a cloud transformation journey, we designed and developed a portal that simplifies interactions between the public administration and private businesses.

Where: Italy
Challenge
The client is a Public Administration that, in fulfilling its institutional mandate, interacts with private companies to deliver specific services. Previously, the process and exchange of information were managed through certified emails (PEC) and/or paper documents, forcing all parties involved into complex and inefficient interactions.
Approach
We adopted an agile approach that enabled us to extract and refine the system’s functional requirements in an iterative and incremental way. The ability to validate the software every three weeks during Sprint Reviews allowed the client to optimize budget usage by initially building a Minimum Viable Product and progressively evolving it into the final system.

Solution
Digital Ecosystem

The portal we developed is capable of standardizing, simplifying, and accelerating the exchange of information between public administrations and private companies. Our team designed the new process by actively collaborating with all stakeholders and adopting innovative approaches to maximize active participation. The solution provides secure access for public employees and private businesses to share documents, send and receive notifications, and track the status of activities.

We also developed cloud transformation guidelines for the client, applying API-first design principles and laying the groundwork for the creation of an integrated ecosystem to support future developments of other enterprise applications.

The system is designed for deployment on the National Strategic Hub (Polo Strategico Nazionale – PSN) infrastructure, specifically on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
