Use Case

Embrace a Manufacturing Platform for Zero-Defects

ABSTRACT
How to use AI to improve the defect detection in manufacturing.

Where: italy
Mission
Exploit new concepts and technologies that improve the production lifecycle and enable plant-wide integration and optimisation across the enterprise.
Solution
Intelligent decision architecture for Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) that combines highly innovative technologies across a wide range of industries to optimise production, reduce defects and improve workforce training. The architecture is based on a data-driven model to support the use of information to make smarter and more efficient decisions. An open and standardised digital platform for connected smart factories (Industry 4.0) that enables manufacturing excellence through zero-defect processes and zero-defect products.
Actions
  • With a multimodal sensor network, it is possible to create intelligent and secure data collection on production lines (data collection in a distributed ledger based on blockchain).
  • With AI methods, it is possible to activate early detection of defects and create an intelligent marketplace for profiling, indexing and reusing defective parts.
  • Digital Twin technologies enable manufacturers to virtualise the production process.
  • By using contextual augmented reality environments and AR glasses, it is possible to further optimise production.
