Use Case

Monitoring seismic events on railway lines

ABSTRACT
How AI & Advanced Analytics enable real-time monitoring of earthquakes on railway lines.

Where: Italy
Mission
Real-time data collection and visualisation in the field of earthquake study, wave propagation and prediction.
Solution

The solution allows the development of specific packages for data acquisition and integration, processing, archiving, querying and real-time visualization. The system is equipped with powerful and resilient mechanisms for data protection and integrity. Graphical interfaces enable the analysis of collected data. In particular:

  • graphs to represent the history of detected events, in the short term (12 hours) and long term (7 days), divided by importance thresholds;
  • real-time graph of the status of detections (PGA measurement);
  • geographical map of the area concerned, with indicators for stations, PGA and the last earthquake;
  • earthquake search panel (with magnitude, dates, etc.).
Digital Ecosystem
Actions
Digital Ecosystem
Use the real-time analysis of data produced by algorithms for processing the understanding of earthquake propagation, to define the immediate assessment of the impact of seismic events, thanks also to the visualization of measurements in graphic form.
Expected results

Real-time analysis and visualisation of earthquake propagation along the route

History of seismic events detected by the network
