Engineering among the signatories of the Manifesto "Enterprises for People and Society" of the United Nations Global Compact
Engineering, an Italian company and leader in digitizing processes for businesses and public administrations, has signed the Manifesto "Enterprises for People and Society", aimed at companies and drafted by the UN Global Compact Network Italy, the local network of the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative.
By signing the Manifesto, the company led by Maximo Ibarra commits to enhancing the role of the social dimension in its corporate strategies to generate long-term value in the supply chain and the communities in which it operates.
"Last year, we joined the United Nations Global Compact, and today we are proud to take another step by signing the Manifesto Enterprises for People and Society, confirming our commitment to advancing responsible and inclusive business," commented Maximo Ibarra, CEO of Engineering. "At Engineering, a company strongly centered on people's talents, we believe that every technological advancement should improve the lives of communities, making it simpler. Every day, we work to integrate ESG values into our offerings through digital solutions that support a widespread growth model."
In recent years, Engineering has achieved significant results in the social sphere: it has increased the presence of women in leadership positions (+7%) and the presence of young talents under 30 (+19%), in addition to providing approximately 33,400 training days through its IT & Management Academy. These internal results are complemented by numerous community initiatives carried out by the Group over the past year, such as digital training courses for over 100 young men and women from the San Patrignano Community and opening up its hiring program to Ukrainian refugees with STEM skills.
The United Nations Global Compact is a special initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General with a mandate to guide and support the global business community in promoting the goals and values of the United Nations through responsible business practices. With more than 20,000 companies and over 3,000 non-profit signatories based in 162 countries and 69 local networks, the UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative.
The United Nations Global Compact operates in Italy through the UN Global Compact Network Italy (UNGCN Italy), an organization that was established as a foundation in 2013 after ten years of informal group activities. The Italian Network primarily works to promote the UN Global Compact and its Ten Principles through institutional dialogue, knowledge production, and the dissemination of best sustainability practices. It is also committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations for 2030. Over 600 Italian businesses and non-profit organizations participate in the UN Global Compact.
