Challenge
Innovation and policy development for Resilient and Critical Infrastructure protection is a complex, multi-disciplinary process that must involve different stakeholders and the analysis of a set of data and information from different sources.
Approach
To ensure the effectiveness of the policy making and the innovation development processes, there is the need to reduce information fragmentation, ensure the continuous and structured analysis, and boost evidence-based policy making, engaging all relevant stakeholders.
In this context, EU-CIP wants to establish a novel pan European knowledge network for Resilient Infrastructures, to enable policy makers to shape and produce evidence-based policies, while boosting the innovation capacity of CI operators, authorities, and innovators.

"EU-CIP offers advanced information analysis capabilities for evidence-based policy making and innovation support services for exploiting and commercializing research outcomes. It establishes and grows a vibrant ecosystem of stakeholders around the project’s information analysis and innovation support services leveraging the achievements of the ECSCI cluster towards establishing an EU-wide knowledge network with advanced analytical and innovation support capabilities.
Engineering is the project coordinator and brings its experience on the specification of the reference model and key indicators framework."
