MDM Sales

Engineering’s SaaS Metering Data Management solution for measurement management in the Electricity and Gas Sales sector.

Within Engineering’s platform for Smart Energy & Utilities, Neta Open Suite, the solution manages the acquisition of measurement data from both regulated and non-regulated sources within a centralized repository, covering the reading management processes (acquisition, validation, consumption calculation, publication to billing systems).

MDM Sale consists of a set of modular functionalities:

  • MDM Core: measurement data acquisition, cleaning, alarm monitoring, and reporting of data management processes

  • Validation: application of configurable and customizable validation algorithms, estimation of measurements, and reconstruction of consumption curves

  • Consumption calculation and aggregation: calculation and aggregation of consumption based on the needs of software solutions that will use the aggregated data (billing system – EV, IoT, consumption forecasting, customer loyalty systems, etc.)

  • Billing item generation: acquisition of aggregated consumption and tariffs, calculation of billing items, and publication to the billing system

The solution is natively Cloud-based, ensuring optimal scalability and integrability, allowing high customization by the operator (measurement validation algorithms, alarm management, dashboards).

Key features introduced in the solution:

  • Simplify acquisition processes, control and verification of readings, detection of anomalous consumption, and data extraction for regulatory reporting

  • Optimize existing functionalities through intuitive dashboards, effective data verification and reconciliation tools, bulk reading management functions, ensuring high flexibility in parameterization and simplifying communication

Additionally, MDM Sale:

  • Safeguards previous investments by inheriting the modularity and composability characteristics of Neta Open Suite, enabling a best-fit technological approach to the Meter-to-Cash process

  • Supports the ecological transition through specific measurable KPIs aligned with the related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda, enabling companies to prepare Sustainability Reports

Thanks to the integration of artificial intelligence algorithms and machine learning processes applied to reading validation and discard classification, utility companies can achieve benefits such as operational efficiency, prevention of billing errors, reduction of customer disputes, improved cash flow, and early detection of potential faults, leaks, or tampering.

What value does it bring to our customers?

  • Complete control over the reading lifecycle

  • Billing based on actual consumption, reducing disputes and delinquency

  • Increased operational efficiency through availability of complete and up-to-date data and consistently verified readings that reduce back-office activities

  • Improved quality of service to the end customer.
