The media market is undergoing a major change. The introduction of non-linear content (OTT, VOD) has given consumers more control on the content they enjoy.

Hyper360 is connecting mainstream media fruition with Virtual Reality. In fact, Hyper360 is getting ready a complete end-to-end production toolset for interactive augmented 360 video, while also leveraging the preference extraction possibility that Omni directional video (i.e. the chosen viewing direction), to build a personalization framework.

Solution

Hyper360 is aimed at Introducing a complete solution for the capture, production, enhancement, delivery and consumption of an innovative free viewpoint video (FVV) media format to the OTT media sectors.
360 content provides an increased feeling of presence and immersion and is starting to be used in the media industry. Sky, BBC, NY Times are just some media players that already started using it, while big ICT players like Facebook, Google and Microsoft are heavily investing in it.
Hyper 360 will leverage 360 video, offering creative for directors to make it interactive. The entire toolset will be validated in pilot cases together with major broadcasters.
The Hyper360 consortium is made up of partners with long-standing expertise in international research and digital solutions.
