At the center of the debate is the world of inland areas and the mountains which are returning to an increasingly prominent role. Also due to the Coronavirus emergency, we are witnessing the depopulation of urban centers and a new focus on mountain municipalities, which attract people who must be supported with networks and services. There is therefore a growing need to collaborate, create synergies between public and private to give life to real Smart Districts in order to pool needs and design integrated solutions. This means creating "critical mass" to be able to attract investments and funds that finance sustainable energy, environmental and social development. New models to ensure, also thanks to the use of new technologies and innovative tools, greater safety for citizens, energy efficiency, fiscal equity, sustainable tourism and mobility.
