Engineering, one of the leading global companies that assists and guides public and private entities in digital transformation, is now a partner of the Sant’Anna School in Pisa and member of its Steering Committee, with the goal of contributing to developing the first Italian Master's course in Management & Innovation Design (MIND).

The new executive Master’s program will be held in Florence, with classes for the 2020-2021 A.Y. taught in English and concentrated on Friday and Saturday mornings starting in September. In addition, some course modules will be organized and provided in collaboration with Stanford University (Stanford Center for Professional Development), which will contribute to the program with content focusing on design thinking, business development and the management of entrepreneurship. Lastly, the Master's program faculty will facilitate personal reskilling by sharing expertise in areas such as digital technology (Big Data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, robotics, etc.), the main drivers of social change, public management, the management of human resources and much more.

A week of full immersion divided between Stanford University and Silicon Valley completes the MIND master's degree curriculum, which will engage managers, entrepreneurs and public sector leaders for 18 months.

Massimo Canducci, Chief Innovation Officer at Engineering, emphasized: “Since day one, our group has focused on innovation and training because technology, which is the core of our business, is constantly changing and is an extraordinary enabler of innovation across all sectors. This requires ongoing education not only in terms of tech, but also in terms of how to manage the processes of innovation, and in this regard, our collaboration with the world of higher education and research is essential. On average, we hire about 1,000 new employees per year. Being able to help prepare young people as they face the world of work, and even professionals at the beginning of their career, also means investing in our future. Being able to do so with such a high-level institute, the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, is incredibly valuable for us.”

“Today, just as in the 1990s, experimentation is in the DNA of the Sant’Anna School, which boasts a few characteristics that are unique to the Italian academic setting and that put it in a good position to pave the way for new projects,” stressed professor Andrea Piccaluga, Director of the Institute of Management, who collaborated with the founder of the Master’s program, professor Riccardo Varaldo, thirty years ago.

“Today the challenge is different. The programs offered by universities have evolved a lot. Excellent university programs promote the fusion of the different ‘languages’ necessary to manage innovation, to be ready to face challenges and learn out in the field what it means to manage the processes of business development, develop a new marketing strategy for new products, and transfer research outcomes to the market”, stated Alberto Di Minin, Director of MIND.

The co-development that is materializing along with the partner companies in the Steering Committee meetings has made it possible to create a course catalog that is in-line with the needs of human resource departments, business development teams and the innovation centers at the institutions that have decided to support Sant’Anna and Stanford as they launch the MIND Master’s degree.

The formula chosen for MIND includes the in-depth use of cutting-edge online learning methods developed by Stanford. This will allow participants to continue to work for their companies and institutes throughout the 18 months of classes. In addition, the support of academic tutors and the exchange with other participants will make it possible to put the content, models and ideas that emerge in class during the individual project work and, more generally, in their professional careers, into practice.

Applications for the 2020-2021 Executive Master’s Program in Management and Innovation Design (MIND) will be accepted until April 27th. Up to that date, potential candidates can request additional information, submit an application and inquire about financial aid on: https://www.mastermind.santannapisa.it/
